FROG® StoMPS™ is a chlorine-free oxidizing shock for hot tubs and spas — and the strongest dose of MPS (monopersulfate) in the FROG line. It clears out the sweat, body oils, lotions and dirt that cloud your water and drag down your sanitizer, without adding more chlorine and without the cyanuric acid buildup that shortens the life of your water.

Why non-chlorine shock matters

Most chlorine products contain cyanuric acid, which exists to protect chlorine from UV light. Your hot tub spends most of its life under a cover, so there is little UV to protect against — the cyanuric acid just accumulates and steadily erodes how well your chlorine works. A non-chlorine shock breaks down combined chlorine and removes contaminants without adding any. It also works fast: you can be back in the water in about 15 minutes.

How to use it

  1. Check the chart on the bottle for your spa’s gallon capacity and measure that amount into the TruDose Cap.
  2. With the jets running and nobody in the tub, pour the measured dose into the water.
  3. Leave the cover off and circulate the jets for 15 minutes to mix it fully, then you’re clear to get back in.

How often should you shock?

For most hot tubs, weekly is the right rhythm. If you run a FROG @ease system, its self-regulating chlorine means you can drop back to shocking about once a month. Either way, add a dose after a party or any heavy-use soak.

Common questions

What does a shock actually do?
It oxidizes contaminants your sanitizer is struggling with and gives it a boost. With chlorine shock you have to hit breakpoint chlorination, which means doing math on your total versus free chlorine readings. A non-chlorine shock skips that entirely.

Will this raise my chlorine level?
No. StoMPS is a non-chlorine oxidizer, so it cleans without pushing your chlorine or bromine reading up.

How is this different from FROG Maintain?
Maintain comes in single-use packets for quick, no-measure shocking. StoMPS is the bottled, higher-strength option with the TruDose Cap for dialing in the dose to your specific spa size.
